Becoming a mother does not mean having to compromise your sense of style, but why is it that so many women succumb to wearing the ever unflattering mom jeans that were made famous by the Saturday Night Live skit. If the waistband of your jeans is almost reaching your bra band, you are probably a victim of the mom jean. Stacey London recently appeared on Oprah's Bra and Jean Intervention and discussed some of denim's worst fashion crimes.
London considers these "high waisted horrors" to be the "cardinal sin of fashion." These extremely high-waisted jeans can make your butt look like a pancake while making you tummy seem much larger than it is, so why is it that denim designers are turning to the SNL skit for inspiration for their spring and summer lines?
This spring, the high-waisted trend seems to be trying to make a comeback. This trend has been seen about Tinseltown on celebrities like Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Lopez and Mischa Barton. But are these new high-waisted jeans any better than SNL's mom jeans? Two words: No Way! Just like the skinny jean trend, high waisted jeans are only for a very specific body type. A recent post on Pink Rock Candy examines exactly what makes this style so unflattering, stating that "the higher waist was initially created to camouflage the tummy many women get after pregnancy, but in all actuality it accentuates any tummy you may have. A lot of this is due to tapering and peg legs.' Anyone with even the smallest rounded tummy will look ten pounds heavier because these higher waistbands over exaggerate anything in the tummy area. This new trend is also unforgiving on curvy figures. Just take a look at Jessica Simpson!

As for me, I think I will stick to the wide leg trend for the summer season. Unlike these higher waisted jeans, wide legs are flattering and forgiving on almost all shaped and sizes.

More than in any other country, the USA's market commerce structure tends to sell the same things everywhere. When it comes to clothing, the result is that everyone tends to dress equally, wearing always the same brands. As a consequence, the fashion trends usually fit the average person, and therefore are normally traditional and conservative. Nobody can deny that every woman in the world wants to be unique.
Brazilian Jeans are considered to be the sexiest jeans on the planet. They clearly back this statement since they were designed with women body in mind. They are made of a higher quality of denim, a brazilian knit of intricate cotton and lycra. This knit is what gives you that curve-hugging fit making them incredibly perfect. They will adjust to your curves and not only show them, but also enhance them. The phrase "brazilian Jeans" is synonymous with low cut jeans. You will find pairs with rises from 4 inches to 8. You will find it difficult to find a higher rise in brazilian jeans, since they are jeans to show off your assets. They will make you feel your best as a woman.
Brazilian women are known for being very sexy. With a closer look you will see that in fact, they are no sexier than any other woman could potentially be. The real fact is that they "look sexy", or in other words, they DRESS SEXY.
I finally found a place where I can buy brazilian style jeans at an affordable price, here in US. Check it out! http://www.bestbrazilianjeans.com

I actually love the new high waisted jeans AND skinny jeans. What I don't like is the really wide pant leg. It's hot on some women, but I'm short, and really skinny, so they sort of overwhelm me.

High waisted jeans are a very fashionable choice and useful...
as a chastity belt!
If you want to attract a girl, you probably want the fashion opinion of a girl. I'm not a girl and if you want the opinion of myself and all the other guys at my university that I've brought the subject up with: work off the fat you're trying to cover up so you can show off your well-earned mid section.
Jeans don't have to be so low that they show a but crack and, if you're shy, thong straps don't have to be pulled above a low waistline either. My girlfriend seems to pull all that off, so I'm dead certain you can too. Wear your pants on your pelvis, not your stomach.

All hail the high(er)-waisted straight leg jean. Finally, a style that I can wear that doesn't leave a gap at my waist large enough to hold a small child, koala-bear style :) I have hips - not gigantic, but I had a baby, so there are hips. And, I have a long, relatively small waist and short legs. So, low rise jeans made me look like a garden gnome. NOT attractive at all...
